We are pleased to announce that Northwest Life Medicine Clinic now offers all routine childhood immunizations. Over these last months, we have talked a lot internally about how to ensure our clinic is a safe space for all of our patients to navigate any vaccination conversations they wish to have – we are aware it can be a sensitive topic.
As a parent of two young children, I intimately understand how overwhelming the breadth of information about vaccines can feel. A lot of the input we receive through media sources is both conflicting and unsettling- how does a parent find a clear path through all this information, one that helps us feel like we are protecting our children in the very best possible way?
Knowing how complex this topic can be has solidified my belief that parents need to have a safe place to ask questions and talk through options for vaccination. We brought vaccinations to our clinic as an important piece of preventive care, prevention being one of our six core naturopathic principles. We also understand that prevention is ultimately accomplished through education and conversation.
At Northwest Life Medicine Clinic, our naturopathic doctors offer a safe space for your vaccine questions, concerns, and decisions. We’re happy to talk with you about this complex topic, and to offer this information at your pace, and in the format you need to feel good about the decisions you make with, and for, your loved ones. We are committed to a low-stress approach to vaccination conversations. All questions are welcome. Immunizations can be done during your child’s well-child exam, or in a separate vaccine-only appointment. Vaccine appointments are scheduled with Dr. Alex Owen.
Dr. Owen specializes in pediatrics and family care and provides primary care to pediatric patients from just after birth through adolescence. This includes newborn exams, well-child exams, sports physicals, acute sick visits, and visits for chronic health concerns. We are lucky to have her as our resident go-to for all questions in the vaccination realm.
